ONEIDA -- An Oneida woman is accused of hiding cocaine in a baby's crib.
Oneida Police say 23-year-old Kaila Lohr, of 309 N. Lake Street Apt. 2, put 8.5 grams of cocaine in individual packages in a container and hid it in her five-month-old daughter's crib. Officers found the drugs while executing a search warrant at the house around 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
She is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Two children under the age of six were also present in the house when police searched the home. Court documents show she is accused of both possessing and using the drugs while her children were around.
Lohr was arraigned and sent to the Madison County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Oneida City Court on January 13.
Madison County Child Protective Services were called in, and the children were placed with other family members.
Oneida Police Chief David Meeker says packaging prevented the child from having contact with the drugs.
Police didn't know if Lohr has a lawyer.
