CORNING, STEUBEN CO. (AP) -- Authorities say a pedestrian has been hit by a vehicle and killed on Interstate 86 in New York's Southern Tier.
State police tell the Evening Tribune of Hornell that the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-86 around 5:15 a.m. Thursday in the Steuben County town of Corning, 75 miles southeast of Rochester.
Troopers have closed the highway between exits 46 and 47 while the accident is being investigated.
The name of the victim hasn't been released.
