RICHFORD, OSWEGO CO. -- State police are investigating a deadly crash in the Tioga County town of Richford.
It happened around 3:24 p.m. Thursday on State Route 79.
Police say 84-year-old Richard Murphy, of Trumansburg, was traveling westbound on the road when he lost control, spinning into the eastbound lane and slamming into a 2009 Honda sedan. Murphy was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the Honda, 28-year-old Virginia Mosia, of Binghamton, was taken to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City with minor injuries.
State police continue to investigate.
