CAYUGA COUNTY -- A truck stored in the Town of Niles Highway Garage may have started the fire that destroyed the building.  This, according to Niles Supervisor Rick Slagle.

Firefighters from six Cayuga County departments spent the night at the burning building...but were unable to save it.

Neighbors on New Hope Road reported hearing an explosion before seeing the flames, about 10:30 Friday night.  When firefighters arrived, the building was engulfed in flames. Most units were on the scene til 5am Saturday morning.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
