Chance stop leads to arrests
Clifford Congdon and Henry Whitmeyer are charged with manufacturing meth
Two Canastota men are charged with manufacturing methanphetamine, after troopers say they spotted their lab while writing them up on another charge.
On Wednesday morning, troopers spotted a large fire behind 32 year old Clifford Congdon's home at 8283 North Main Street in Canastota, and while writing up the illegal violation, noticed what they called meth paraphernalia in the home's garage.
On Friday, they arrested both Congdon and 28 year old Henry Whitmeyer, from Lewis Point Road in Canastota, for unlawful manufacture, a class D Felony. Both were commited to the Madison County Jail.
