SYRACUSE -- A player on the Syracuse University football team was suspended from all football-related activies and is facing charges after police say he stole a bottle of cologne from a Carousel Center store.
Terrel Hunt, 18, was arrested Tuesday at Carousel Center after taking a bottle "Breakline Fragrance," worth $44, from the Hollister store without paying for it, according to a press release from Syracuse Police.
"I am aware of the charges filed yesterday against Terrel Hunt by the Syracuse Police Department. Terrel has been suspended from all football-related activities," said Syracuse University football coach Doug Marrone in a statement.
Investigators say Hunt put the bottle inside a Hollister shopping bag and walked out of the store. He was confronted outside the Hollister store and was taken to the Carousel Center security office.
He was cooperative and apologetic, according to police.
Hunt is facing petit larceny charges, and was the only one charged in the incident.
He was issued an appearance ticket for Syracuse City Court for an unknown date.
