CANANDAIGUA (AP) -- Authorities say a woman pulled over for suspected drunken driving had left her 15-month-old daughter alone at home in western New York.
Sheriff's deputies say 21-year-old Vanessa Rosa kicked a deputy and spat in his face after she was stopped for driving erratically on a rural road in Gorham early Wednesday. They say she also refused a breath test for alcohol.
Police sent to her home in Canandaigua found her toddler unharmed. It wasn't clear how long the child had been left unattended.
Rosa pleaded not guilty to driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and felony counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and aggravated harassment of an employee by an inmate. She was ordered jailed on $10,000 cash bail.
Charges of endangering the welfare of a child were pending.
