TOWN OF OSWEGO -- One person was killed in a crash in the Town of Oswego.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. Thursday on West 5th Street Road.

Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 29-year-old Jason Clark, of 807 County Route 25, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies say Clark was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus when he lost control, slamming into a tree on the passenger side of the car.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies say he was wearing a seat belt at the time, was not using a cell phone and alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Investigators say it appears both speed and slippery roads contributed to the crash.
