TRENTON, ONEIDA CO. -- A Utica man is accused of smashing a window while breaking into the home of his child's mother.
Oneida County Sheriff's deputies say 41-year-old Scott Goodson broke into the home at 10601 Hulser Road in the Town of Trenton just before midnight Thursday. Goodson's 6-month-old child and three other relatives were also home at the time.
Deputies found Goodson in a bedroom bleeding from his hands. They say he refused verbal commands to be taken into custody and threatened a deputy with physical harm as he was held at bay with a taser. The taser was not deployed during the altercation.
Goodson was eventually taken into custody. Deputies say he continued to fight with them outside the home, refusing to get into the patrol car and kicking at the windows. He was eventually put in leg shackles.
Goodson is charged with burglary, criminal contempt and aggravated criminal contempt. The woman in the house suffered cuts from the broken glass while trying to prevent Goodson from getting into the house. He is also charged with criminal mischief, assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was arraigned in the Town of Marcy Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of no bail.
Deputies say a 17-year-old in the home tried to obstruct Goodson's arrest and was charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. She was issued in appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Trenton Court.
