SYRACUSE -- CNY Central is holding its first veterans only career fair, Operation: Hired, on Tuesday, January 31.
Operation: Hired will be at the SRC Arena and Events Center at Onondaga Community College, Syracuse, from 10:00am to 5:00 pm.
Over 50 employers will be in attendance looking to hire vets.
Antony Basile will speak at Operation: Hired at 9:30am. Basile is a retired and accomplished U.S. Air Force colonel who successfully made the transition into a career as manager at C&S airport group.
Basile will share his experiences and help to guide the career-seeking veterans as they begin their own transitions from military to civilian careers.
Basile says, “Having fairly recently made the transition of leaving a long military career to start a new civilian career, I have a pretty good sense of the flood of emotions and concerns facing today’s military members who are about to start that new segment of their lives.”
As a colonel, Basile was awarded several honors including the Legion of Merit in both 2008 and 2010, the General I. G. Brown Air National Guard Command Excellence Award in 2005, the Meritorious Service Medal in 2003, and the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1991, among other awards. In addition to his military experiences, Basile received a master’s degree in human resources management from Chapman University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from Fordham University.
