It's Tuesday, 10 - 5 at OCC
Veterans can find jobs or get help with job finding skills at Tuesday's event
Operation: Hired has already signed on 60 area employers to offer jobs, and will also have job finding help for veterans at Tuesday's career fair.
Bob McLean, with the Veterans Service Agency for Onondaga County, says that the expo is designed for veterans of all ages and service categories, from those just returning from a first tour of duty, to career military. It's designed for unemployed as well as veterans who may be in jobs where they're 'underemployed.' McLean says some vets don't realize how many skills they've learned while in service, and what assets those skills can be in civilian jobs.
In addition to jobs, the event will offer help in making the transitions from military to civilian life, as well as resume and job interviewing help, and information on medical benefits due after military service.
Operation: Hired will be at OCC's new SRC Center, Tuesday 10am - 5pm. Check this link and click on 'employer' or 'veteran' for more detailed information.
