MANLIUS -- Manlius Police have released new details on a police chase that ended with a DWI arrest.

Officers say 33-year-old Michael Karoleski of East Syracuse was speeding down Fremont Road just before 10 o'clock Sunday night. They say he ran several red lights and even crossed into oncoming traffic, nearly hitting a patrol car.

Karoleski eventually turned onto Manlius Center Road and slid down an embankment, hitting a tree. Police say Karoleski ran away from the crash. Officers quickly caught up with him.

Karoleski is facing several charges, including DWI, reckless driving, and fleeing a police officer. He was arraigned in Town of Manlius court and released. He is scheduled to be back in court on February 7th.
