CORTLAND -- An Ithaca man is facing charges in a robbery in Cortland.
Police say the robbery happened Tuesday at Jodi's Hallmark Store on Main Street, right in the middle of the city. Investigators say 33-year-old Joseph Drogalis told the store clerk he had a weapon and demanded money. He had his hands in his pocket, and made it look like he had a weapon. Police say Drogalis took $444 and ran off.
Drogalis was arrested a short time later. He is charged with robbery, grand larceny, and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was sent to Cortland County Correctional Facility with no bail.
Police say he never actually had a weapon.
