SULLIVAN, MADISON COUNTY -- State police say an 82-year-old man has died after his pickup truck went off a central New York road and overturned in a stream around 2:00pm Thursday.

Troopers say Charles Stevens of Canastota was driving on a Lakeport Road in the Madison County town of Sullivan Thursday afternoon when his truck left the roadway, struck a culvert, hit some trees and ended up in a stream.

Emergency crews removed Stevens from the vehicle and took him to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash occurred about 10 miles east of Syracuse.

Troopers say the cause of the crash is being investigated.
