GUILDERLAND (AP) -- Police had to subdue a large crowd at a mall outside Albany after pushing and shoving broke out during a promotion for a new Nike sneaker.

The Albany Times Union reports that a crowd of around 150 to 200 people had gathered at a Foot Locker store at a mall in Guilderland for a chance to buy a $250 shoe called the Foamposite.

Guilderland police told the newspaper that the crowd rushed the gates at around 6 a.m. when it became apparent that there weren't enough tickets to the event for everyone who wanted to get in.

State police, sheriff's deputies, and officers from a local college were all brought in to help restore order.

Police say one person suffered a minor injury, but no one was arrested.
