Andrews previously injured David Trebilcock, according to investigators
ONEIDA COUNTY -- The inmate charged with assaulting a man accused of killing a 6-year-old has now been charged with assaulting another person while behind bars.
Shaun Andrews, 25, of Brooklyn, injured a correction officer who tried to stop the inmate from trying to escape the Oneida County Correctional Facility, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The incident occurred on January 31st, according to deputies. Andrews will be arraigned at a later date.
Andrews is already serving time for a felony assault charge stemming from another attack in the same jail in the same month.
On January 4th, Andrews was charged with assaulting David Trebilcock, 30.
Trebilcock, who suffered face injuries, didn't want to press charges for the beating.
Trebilcock is accused of stabbing Lauren Belius, 6, to death last summer at their home in Sherrill. Belius was the daughter of Trebilcock's girlfriend.
Trebilcock's trial is scheduled to start Tuesday.
Andews is in jail originally for two previous counts of assault.
