OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA -- The group that hacked into the Syracuse Police department website has struck again, this time out west in California.

'Anonymous' just released the personal information of some of Oakland's top city leaders online. The group says it's in response to clashes between Occupy Oakland protesters and police.

According to KGO-TV, the group says it's 'disgusted and shocked by the behavior of Oakland city officials...so they have released the personal information of city officials including the mayor, the city council, the city administrator and the police chief.'

The details reportedly made public include home addresses, phone numbers, birthdays and email addresses.

Just last week, Syracuse police were forced to shut down their website after 'Anonymous' hacked into it. The site remains shut down with a server default page popping up.

The hackers are apparently upset with the police department's handling of the Bernie Fine controversy and the conviction of former Auburn Police Officer Brian Hutchings.

It appears the hackers are associated with Anonymous, a shadowy international organization of what some might consider cyber terrorists. Syracuse police are now working with the FBI to investigate. Police say no internal records, police reports or sensitive information was compromised.
