ITHACA -- It took Ithaca police almost a year, but they finally tracked down a man wanted in connection with a shooting.

Jamel Booker was found at a hotel in Ithaca on Wednesday.

He was wanted in connection with a shooting along the 500 block of West Green Street last April. Police believe Booker left town and went into hiding in Florida. They were later tipped off that he was back in the Ithaca area.

A team of investigators found Booker at an Ithaca hotel and took him into custody without incident.

Booker was taken to the Tompkins County Jail where he will be held pending an appearance in the Tompkins County Superior Court today.
