OSWEGO -- An Oswego man allegedly found passed out in his car is now charged with drunk driving.
Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say they found 37-year-old Richard Breitbeck, of 287 Bunker Hill Road, passed out behind the wheel of his minivan, which was still in drive. Deputies say the car was stopped in the northbound lane of Thompson Road in the Town of Oswego. After becoming responsive, deputies say Breitbeck repeatedly ignored commands for him to put the vehicle in park and get out of the car, instead driving off. After pursuing him for a short distance, they pulled him over, but Breitbeck allegedly kept going again. After about a mile, Breitbeck pulled over and was ordered out of the car and arrested.
He is charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with .08 of one percent or more of alcohol, crossed hazardous road markings, failed to keep right and failed to obey the lawful command of a police officer.
He was arraigned in Oswego Town Court and sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to be back in court on February 20.
