VERONA -- A Rome man was killed in a crash at a Thruway rest stop Wednesday afternoon.
State Police say 37-year-old Anthony Garro was driving west on the Thruway in Verona when he drifted off the road onto the shoulder. Troopers say Garro kept going into a parking area and slammed into the back of a parked tractor-trailer.
Garro was killed in the crash. The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.
Police are still looking into what caused Garro to go off the road.
