SYRACUSE -- Starting this week, a portion of Hiawatha Boulevard will be closed to traffic between Erie Boulevard and State Fair Boulevard.
The road will be closed from Monday, February 20 through mid-April due to construction associated with the Lower Harbor Brook CSO (Combined Sewer Overflow) Project.
The project is a component of Onondaga County's Save the Rain Program. It includes the installation of a new 4.9 million gallon CSO storage facility and associated conveyance sewers designed to limit the amount of combined sewage that enters Harbor Brook during storm or high flow events.
Hiawatha Boulevard traffic will be detoured at Erie and State Fair Boulevards. The detour will use Erie Boulevard, State Fair Boulevard and West Genesee Street. The Carousel Center portion of CENTRO Route 82 (Baldwinsville - Lakeland) will be affected by the detour. Riders can click here or call the CENTRO bus line at (315) 442-3400 for more information.
