SYRACUSE -- A Liverpool man convicted of multiple DWI's was sentenced to 8 and a third to 25 years behind bars.
Michael Iannettoni was drunk behind the wheel when he slammed into 82-year-old Vincent Russo's car in Salina along Buckley Road in January of 2011.
Iannettoni was facing a long list of charges after that crash including aggravated vehicular homicide.
The sentence will be running consecutively, after Iannettoni finishes a previous sentence, for a prior drunk driving charge.
Russo's family is pushing for tougher laws against drunk drivers, that would include mandatory sentences for first, second and third time offenders.
Senator John DeFrancisco is involved in that bill.
