DUNDEE, YATES CO. -- A Dundee couple, of 9 Saunders Street, was arrested and charged for allegedly possessing and selling heroin and cocaine.

Investigators say Larry L. Cheeks, 31, and Heather A. Charette, 29, sold the drugs to police agents and that some of the transactions were made in the presence of young children. They were both charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Charette was also charged with welfare fraud for failing to report the “income” she was receiving from selling heroin and cocaine. Investigators say that by withholding her income information, Charette received welfare benefits that she was not entitled to.

Investigators say Charette was on probation and she was in jail on separate probation violations at the time of her arrest.

Cheeks was also in jail at the time of the arrest for allegedly driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol when stopped by a deputy on Tuesday.

Both are scheduled to reappear in court in March to face charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, and endangering the welfare of a child.
