Onondaga Lake Park sees lots of walks and runs, but the Stiletto Stampede promises to be a bit different.  Imagine 'runners'--both men and women--dressed up and in heels, sprinting 50 yards.

Friends and nursing colleagues of murder victim Katie Socci plan that 'fun' event, along with a more traditional 5k walk/run, to benefit a nursing scholarship being set up in her name at her alma mater, Cayuga Community College.

Karrie Glatt, a Syracuse nurse practitioner who met Katie in California, says signups for the May 12 event, in the Willow Bay area of Onondaga Lake Park, are already open---as a matter of fact it's the most popular event (ahead of the Boilermaker!) on www.active.com --you can also call 439-6190 for more information.
