Hospital Hospitality House is doing the Cajun benefit
A Mardi Gras fundraiser will help out Sarah House, which provides housing for families of adults being treated at hospitals in Syracuse.
The Syracuse home that offers out of towners a place to stay when adult relatives are in the hospital, is throwing a Mardi Gras party to help pay its expenses.
Sarah House director Jen Coman says this year's 'Down Home Hospitality' event will have a Cajun theme, since it's on 'Fat Tuesday'. They'll have Mardi Gras beads, Cajun and Creole inspired foods and silent and live auctions.
Sarah House is in the Strathmore neighborhood of Syracuse, and Coman says it provides lodging, transportation, meals and comfort to veterans , senior citizens, low income families and guests whose extendes stay away from home might create a financial burden. It is all volunteer run, and moneys from the benefit go directly to operating expenses.
The Sarah House benefit is Tuesday, February 21 at St. Ann's Church in Taunton, 5:30 - 8:30pm. More on tickets ($50 per person) at 475-1747 or www.sarahhouse.org
