UTICA -- Utica Police arrested four men following a fight Wednesday morning.
Police say a caller reported that four men were in the building with guns and tried to break into a residence on Summit Place. The caller says they threatened him with a gun.
When police began to interview the caller, they say he was uncooperative and would not provide complete details of the incident.
Police say that while officers were on the scene, several people arrived and began to argue with the caller. Police had to separate the groups from fighting.
A short time later, police say that friends of the caller arrived and the hostility increased between the groups. There were approximately 20 people on scene yelling and threatening each other Officers on scene had to move from group to group breaking up fights. The hostilities continued for over an hour.
Police say when officers tried to break up a fight in the middle of the street, others interfered with the officers making the arrests. One man head butted an officer and fought when they attempted to take him into custody.
Police arrested 20-year-old Adrian Deravariere and 26-year-old Barbara Linder for harassment, resisting arrest, and obstructing a governmental administrator.
Police also arrested 29-year-old Anthony Lester and 26-year-old Tyree Snead on minor charges.
