UTICA, ONEIDA CO. -- Utica police say a man was lying when he told them he was raped by another man.

42-year-old Robert Brower is charged with making a false written statement, a misdemeanor.

Police say Brower told them he was raped and sodomized by another man. But police say they found the man's claim was false and say the incident did not occur.
