AUBURN -- An Auburn man is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl who he helped escape from the Hillside Children's Center where he worked.
State police say 30-year-old John VanDusen, of 3330 Franklin St. Rd., had sexual intercourse with a girl who was a resident at the facility. He's also accused of providing marijuana to a person younger than 18-years-old. Police say the rape did not happen while VanDusen was working at Hillside.
He is charged with rape and criminal sale of marijuana.
VanDusen was previously arrested on January 6. Police say he helped the girl escape from the Hillside Children's Center on County House Road in the Town of Sennett on August 11. In that case, he is charged with escape, criminal possession of marijuana, custodial interference and unlawfully growing cannabis.
The 17-year-old was later returned to the care of Social Services.
