UTICA -- A Utica man is facing charges in several shoplifting incidents.

28-year-old Mark Morey, of Erie Street, is accused of stealing electronics from the Wal-Mart Super Center at 710 Horatio Street. Witnesses say he would hide the items under his coat, then go to the bathroom with a knife and remove the packaging material on the items and leave the store undetected.

Around 8:10 p.m. Monday, police say Morey went into the bathroom with three cell phones valued at $179 and then walked out with nothing in his hands. Police say they later found the phones in Morey's jacket.

Police say he is the suspect in three other shoplifting incidents at Wal-Mart. Police say he stole an X Box headset and HD camera worth $203 back on February 22. Two days earlier, he is accused of stealing a satellite radio and portable recorder worth $294.

Morey is charged with petit larceny. More charges may be filed for a fourth shoplifting incident.
