CAMILLUS -- A 17 year old boy from Camillus faces a felony charge following his arrest after yesterday's bomb threat at West Genesee High School.
Justin Clayton is charged with falsely reporting an incident, a Class "D" felony. He's jailed on $50,000 bail bond, or $20,000 cash bond.
On Tuesday, West Genesee High school was evacuated and searched by police after the threat turned up. Students emptied out of the school shortly after noon and got onto buses in the parking lot of the shopping complex next door.
Superintendent Chris Brown used social media, especially Twitter to communicate with the public during the evacuation.
Brown wrote on his blog, "We used Twitter, SNN, our website, and Facebook to keep people informed as we worked through the process. I am very appreciative of all of the parents, students, and members of the media who 're-tweeted' or shared our factual and timely information so that everyone knew that all involved were safe, warm, and were going to get home safely."
Camillus Police say there was a separate bomb threat at the high school on Wednesday. Another teen, a 16 year old girl from Camillus, was arrested in that incident. She is also charged with falsely reporting an incident.
She was arraigned and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center on $50,000 bail bond, or $25,000 cash bond.
