SYRACUSE (AP) -- Health officials say lab tests have confirmed that norovirus is to blame for sickening scores of people who ate at a Syracuse restaurant late last month.

The Onondaga County Health Department tells Syracuse media outlets that the number of people who reported getting sick after eating at the Twin Trees Too restaurant has risen to 95 as of Wednesday. They suffered food poisoning after dining at the restaurant the last weekend in February. The total includes seven restaurant employees.

The 40-year-old restaurant reopened Wednesday evening after undergoing a thorough cleaning. Health officials say people who visit the restaurant are no longer at risk.

Norovirus is a highly contagious stomach bug that causes vomiting and diarrhea.
