Cranx Indoor Bike and Sports Park

DEWITT -- Bikers looking for some gravity defying jumps and ramps are in luck. There’s a new indoor bike park in town and its one of the largest of its kind in the country.
Cranx Indoor Bike and Sports Park opened this week in Dewitt. Cranx co-owner Dale Cruce says the indoor bike park is one of the largest of its kind in the country and is already catching the attention of BMX and mountain bike riders from across the northeast.
"We have had bike shops from Pennsylvania and actually some people from Canada who have come here to check us out so we are pretty stoked," he says.
Cranx's professionally designed course is more than 50,000 square feet of jumps and turns. Cruce says one of the tracks highlights is its jumpline, which is the longest in the country.
"Up until we opened the longest jumpline in the country was 8 jumps long and 12 feet wide. We are 12 jumps long and about 18 feet wide so this is bringing in a lot of pros to check us out," he says.
Cranx is already getting rave reviews from local bikers like Will Bruce.
"This place is one of a kind most skate parks aren't like this. The closest ones are in Cleveland and Milwaukee, so it is definitely a very unique place," Bruce says.
Cranx costs about $20 for the day. A 3-acre outdoor bike park is being built and will open later this spring.
