Rosie's Sports Bar in Syracuse was packed at noon on Thursday, as fans cheered for the Syracuse University basketball team.

However, the timing of the game made it difficult for some fans to watch.

Rick Pehnke says, for him, it was worth taking a vacation day to watch the game with friends.

"We love Syracuse, and we represent Syracuse," says Pehnke. "We bleed orange."

Some other fans were able to get a little extra time in their lunch hour.

"Fortunately, we have a nice enough boss who said, 'Go ahead, and take the afternoon off,'" says fan Jim Proietti.

Mark and Renee Deangelis own their own businesses, so they were able to work around watching their team play.

"It's been an awesome season," says Mark Deangelis. "We've been through a lot of ups and downs, but we're doing very well."

Of course, there were also a few people at Rosie's who said they were playing hooky from work to watch. They asked us not to take their picture.

However, Vicki Hemmer and Marianne Hart were front and center cheering on their team. They say they're retired and have high hopes for the rest of the season.

"That they win the championship, of course," says Hemmer.
