SYRACUSE -- A local company says it has built the first ever stadium LED light.

Ephesus Technologies has its roots as a startup in the Syracuse Tech Garden. President Joe Casper says 15 people now work for the business and it is unveiling its biggest innovation yet.

The new lights can be used for fields, raceways, and parking lights. According to Casper, his lights will be much more efficient than top stadium lighting from competitors like Philips and General Electric. As an added bonus, the lights are being built in Central New York. "Being able to put it all together, assemble and build it from New York state local companies, and being able to do it right here, that's what's really neat about it," Casper says.

The company is hoping that production here in Central New York will lead to dozens of jobs for the area.

The lights will first be used at the Central New York Raceway Park in Central Square. Construction on the dirt racing track will start in the late spring.
