BUFFALO -- A JetBlue flight from Boston to Chicago was diverted to Buffalo due to a telephoned bomb threat.

The plane landed safely at 8:25 a.m. and was cleared of any possible threats. According to NBC affiliate WGRZ-TV, a female passenger is being interviewed by law enforcement officials right now.

JetBlue released this statement regarding the incident: Due to a security issue, Flight 923 from Boston-Chicago diverted and landed safely in Buffalo where the aircraft was met by local and federal authorities. This is an ongoing investigation and we refer all questions to the FBI for further comment.

85 other passengers and luggage were removed from the plane and canines were brought in.
