LEE CENTER -- A New York State Corrections Officer finds himself on the other side of the law.

46-year-old Stephen Palmer, of Lee Center, is accused providing alcohol and smoking marijuana with a child and sending them indecent material.

State police say Palmer sent indecent material to a child electronically. While they were investigating that incident, they found Palmer allegedly provided alcoholic beverages and smoked marijuana with the child and other people.

Palmer is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Town of Lee Court and released on his own recognizance.

If you have any information about the case, contact the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center at 315) 732-3990. All calls will be kept confidential.
