OSWEGO -- An elementary school student is accused of a crime that would be a felony sex abuse charge if committed by an adult.

Oswego City Police say two Kingsford Park Elementary School students had inappropriate sexual contact with each other. Police would not specify where or when the incident occurred, but the school district sent a letter home to parents on February 17th. Police say the district has fully cooperated with the investigation.

A nine year old student has been sent to Oswego County Family Court via Family Court Petition for actions that would constitute charges of first degree criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child if committed by an adult. First degree criminal sex act is a class B felony and endangering the welfare of a child is a misdemeanor.

We reached out to the Oswego City School District, but the superintendent was not available for comment.
