DRYDEN -- Dryden Central School District’s high school and middle school were on lockdown Monday morning.
Sandy Sherwood, Dryden Central School District superintendent, says the lockdown was caused by a statement posted on Facebook that needed to be investigated.
Sherwood says there was language that was threatening to the general population, but no specifics in that statement.
The superintendent says a suspect was suspended by the principal and will have to appear before a superintendent's meeting for a violation of the school's code of conduct.
There is no official school punishment for this kind of incident. Sherwood says everything is dealt with on an individual basis.
