FAYETTEVILLE -- A Fayetteville woman endured what had to be the scare of a lifetime early Monday morning and police need help finding the man they believe followed her home and tried to force her into the trunk of her own vehicle.

Police have reason to believe the woman, who is not being identified, may have been followed home from the Wegman's on East Genesee Street in DeWitt. When she arrived home and was unloading groceries, police say she was accosted by a white male who tried to force her into the trunk of her vehicle. There was a struggle, and police say the man took off. The victim describes the suspect as a younger looking white male with a slim build and short blondish hair.

Police are searching for a newer model, gray sedan with a sun roof. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Town of Manlius Police Department at 315-682-2212 or our TIPS line at 682-8673.
