SALINA -- A Salina man was held up outside his own home Thursday night.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. along the 100 block of Noble Avenue.

Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say a 23-year-old man was outside his home when he was approached by a teenager who was armed with what appeared to be a handgun. The suspect demanded cash and took off. The victim was not hurt.

Deputies searched the area, including an apartment complex on Taft Avenue.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic man, approximately 18-years-old. He is said to be about 5'5" tall and had a pencil thin mustache. He was last seen running towards Taft Avenue and was wearing dark colored, baggy sweatpants with purple colored shorts underneath. He was also wearing a black, fitted baseball hat that was said to have a flat brim and the Trial Blazers logo on it.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division at (315) 435-3081. You can also send an email to sherifftips@ongov.net.
