UTICA -- A Utica man was arrested for drunk driving after crashing into a utility pole and fleeing the scene.

Police in Utica responded to a one-car crash in the area of Albany Street and South Park Drive around 1:47am Sunday morning.

Police say a vehicle struck a utility pole breaking it in half.

Live wires from the utility pole were lying on the ground next to the vehicle, which had flipped over, when police arrived.

Police say the driver, 34-year-old Edin Seferagic, fled the scene.

An officer and his K9 partner located Seferagic lying down in a wooded area off of Albany Street.

Police arrested Seferagic and charged him with DWI, having a blood alcohol content level nearly twice the legal limit (.14%), failing to keep right, and leaving the scene of an accident.
