WEEDSPORT, CAYUGA CO. -- A Weedsport man is accused of breaking into a towing company and stealing a car to sell for scrap.

Weedsport police say Edwin Bishop, of 12321 Upton Road, broke into Pullen's towing on March 18 and stole a car.

Police say he brought the car to Alpco Recycling in Macedon for scrap. It was recovered by police and returned to its owner.

Bishop was arrested and arraigned in Weedsport Village Court on charges of burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle, grand larceny and petit larceny.

He was sent to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 secured bond.
