Help for family members who take care of older relatives. And, it's free.
ICare, the Institute for Caregivers, is starting its spring semester programs for family members who take care of aging relatives. The classes, offered in several locations around Onondaga County, cover a whole range of issues, from preventing falls to better senior nutrition, to legal questions as someone ages, as well as several sessions on coping with Alzheimers and dementia.
Cynthia Stevenson, who is the director of caregiver services, says all the courses are free. The first start on Monday, April 2 and all run through June. There's a catalog, available by calling 435-2362, and there's more information online on the ICare website.
