The Brady Faith Center, on Syracuse's South Side, got a facelift on Sunday, thanks to the St. Joseph's Confirmation Class.
The teenagers--mostly 9th and 10th graders---were up early to tidy up the outside of the South Avenue building. . And, besides tidying up, there was some 'serious' landscaping, under the supervision of Ben Dusart, owner of Dixon Hills Landscape, who also donated project planning times and some of the planting materials.
Besides the fix up project, the teens set up the parking lot for a noontime mass, after which the group prepared and served lunch.
The planning group says that besides introducing the confirmation group to more of their church's neighborhood, this was a community-building event. They also hope other community groups do similar community fix-up projects
