UTICA -- Someone is stealing street signs in Utica and may be selling the material for scrap.

Utica police say a "Sign Shop" employee told them street signs throughout the city are being stolen. Police say the thief or thieves may be in the scrap metal business and are taking the post and sign from the ground.

Most of the signs are being stolen from the West Utica area.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information should call Utica Police at (315) 534-1229. All calls will be kept confidential.
