Display at Syracuse's Tech Garden
Here's a free display of what's been invented or innovated in the Syracuse area
Syracuse's Tech Garden is an incubator center, developing new business. But this month, it's also paying tribute to what's been invented here in the past.
Artist-in-residence Ty Marshall has assembled a 'Patently Syracuse' display, highlighting 40 inventions or innovations that come from Central New York. Among the best known, the 24-second shot clock for basketball, and the Park-Brannock device, which measures feet for the correct shoe size (the shoe store staples are still manufactured in the area.)
Marshall says the diversity of the inventions shows how the Syracuse area has a long history of being an innovative place.
The 'Patently Syracuse' display is at Syracuse's Tech Garden on Harrison Street (the ground floor of the AXA Towers) and it's open until April 19th, Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm. More information on their website.
