The chief of the City of Watertown Police Department is retiring this June.
On Wednesday, Chief Joseph Gross notified City Manager Mary Corriveau that he will retire on June 29th after serving almost 30 years with the police department.
Gross began his career with the City of Watertown Police Department as a patrolman in July 1982. He later worked as a detective before being promoted to sergeant.
Gross was promoted to lieutenant in 1996 and was in charge of detectives. He was named chief of police in May 2006.
