PARIS, ONEIDA CO. -- A Clinton teenager is facing drug charges in a car crash that left her seriously hurt.
It happened on Doolittle Road in the Town of Paris.
Oneida County Sheriff's deputies say 19-year-old Melanie Suchy, of Sawyer Road, was driving a 2002 Kia southbound on Doolittle Road when she failed to negotiate a curve, over corrected and spun into the opposite lane, slamming into a tree head-on.
Suchy was extricated from the car and taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital for a broken leg, broken arm and cuts from glass. She was stabilized and transferred to Upstate Medical Center for further treatment.
Suchy is charged with DWI drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana, speed not reasonable/prudent and failure to keep right. She's scheduled to appear in the Town of Paris Court at a later date.
