GRANBY -- The drivers involved in a crash Wednesday morning on State Route 48 in Granby have been identified.
Chris Cizenski, 59, of Baldwinsville, was driving northbound on State Route 48. The Bud Light tractor-trailer headed southbound was driven by David Briggs, 45, of Ilion, according to the Oswego County Sheriff's Department.
Initial findings show Cizenski crossed the center line and hit the tractor-trailer head on, according to investigators. Deputies don't know why Cizenski crossed the center line.
Cizenski was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to investigators. He was cut from the vehicle and airlifted to Upstate University Hospital. He is listed in fair condition.
Joshua Hunger, 27, of Baldwinsville, was driving behind Cizenski and swerved to avoid the crash. He hit an Oswego County Sheriff's patrol vehicle driven by Deputy Robert Obrist, 26, of Oswego.
Obrist was on patrol facing west on Dann Drive when his vehicle was struck.
Hunger and Obrist didn't report any injuries, according to investigators, and both were wearing seatbelts.
"The fact we had a deputy there as close as you can get, he was there to immediately help call the situation in and get emergency services to respond and then rendered what aid he could to the involved persons," said Gene Sullivan, Oswego County Undersheriff.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to have been involved, according to deputies. The investigation is continuing and no tickets have been issued.
Route 48 was closed between Wilcox and Highbank Roads in both directions from about 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
