AMBOY, OSWEGO CO. -- A Parish man's car burst into flames after crashing into a tree.

Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 23-year-old Joshua Kranz, of 426 Chapman Road, was driving a 1998 Ford pickup truck westbound on Mellon Road in the Town of Amboy when he lost control just east of CR 17 around 1:50 p.m. Sunday, slamming into a tree.

Deputies say Kranz left the scene with his car engulfed in flames.

Kranz was issued tickets for unlicensed operator and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Deputies say driver inexperience appears to have been a contributing factor in the crash.

Kranz also has an outstanding bench warrant in the Village of East Syracuse.
